Roof Guardrails

Permanent edge protection and guardrail systems for passive fall prevention.

Overview

Roof guardrails are passive fall prevention systems that eliminate the need for personal protective equipment in protected areas. Our aluminium guardrail systems provide permanent edge protection along roof perimeters, around plant areas, and along walkways. As a passive system, guardrails are the highest level of fall protection in the hierarchy of controls. They require no training, no harnesses, and no anchor points to be effective.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are guardrails better than anchor points for fall protection?

Guardrails are considered the highest-order fall protection control because they are passive and prevent falls without requiring worker training, equipment, or compliance. Where practical, guardrails should always be considered first in the hierarchy of controls, before fall arrest systems like anchor points.

Do guardrails need to be inspected?

Yes. Like all height safety systems, guardrails should be inspected annually by a competent person to check for corrosion, loose fixings, damage, and structural integrity. We provide annual inspection and certification for all guardrail installations.

Can fold-down guardrails be used to maintain building aesthetics?

Yes. Our fold-down guardrail systems can be lowered flat when not in use, minimising visual impact from ground level. This is a popular solution for heritage buildings, hotels, and architecturally sensitive commercial buildings.
